What We're Looking For
We’re especially interested in contemporary, commercial fiction that centers on relationships and emotional depth. Some stories we both adore: The Notebook, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and A Star is Born.
Sam is primarily seeking young adult novels that explore relationships—first loves, best friends, or complicated family dynamics. She’s drawn to voice-driven narratives with emotional resonance. On the adult side, she’s looking for select romance and upmarket fiction in the vein of Emily Henry or Ali Hazelwood—stories that showcase the messy, joyful, and vulnerable sides of human connection. She’s a sucker for second-chance love stories, but embraces every trope when it’s done well.
Dustin gravitates toward love stories that exist within a framework of science, technology, or high-concept storytelling—think Her or Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. He’s especially interested in plot-driven work that raises big questions, wrestles with ethics or philosophy, and prioritizes ideas over lyrical language. He doesn’t shy away from darker explorations of love, à la Phantom Thread.
Please note: At this time, we are not the right agency for fantasy (of any age group), children’s books, nonfiction, graphic novels, or historical fiction.
